Uncomfortably Convenient

Taken 13MAR2011

It was a long, tiresome day of marching my sister around Tokyo (map courtesy of Google Maps).  We started in Kameido 亀戸, in the Koutou district, indulged in a giant slide somewhere west of Kameido, possibly south of Kinshicho, and continued southwest towards Toyosu.  That ‘hood was a bit of a fisherman’s fiesta, so we backtracked out of there on the way to Roppongi, Nigerian paradise, Gaien nishi dori 外苑西通り, and finally, Omotesando, flanked by rows of zelkova trees.  A good hike, but one that wasn’t punctuated enough by eats.  The supermarket manager must’ve known we were near, as a rare treat manifested itself in the form of a bench right in front of a vending machine.  ‘Course, I don’t drink coffee, but a boiling cup of corn potage would’ve just been dandy.
